This month I read a book called The Last Word by Taylor Adams. I have not finished reading this book yet; i am currently on page 125. My favorite character from this book is Emma because she can’t sleep. A quote to show how she can’t sleep is “ Emma tries to fall back asleep but can’t.” Emma Carpenter enjoys the isolation and quiet of house sittings, and the only company for her is her books and her dog. But when one night she leaves a one-star review for a poorly written and gruesome horror novel, her whole life turns into a nightmare. Not only is she being harassed by the angry author online but she’s noticing disturbing incidents in the house. Scratches in the night, and figures crawling around in the shadows. She soon notices that its all connected, and from author to reader, we don’t know who will have the last word till one of them get executed. My favorite quote from the book is “ rest is just insults. Your cherry picking pieces without any contacts to set up your little jokey jokes. to invite people to laugh at me.” This quote is meaningful to me because i got picked on a lot when i was younger, and even now. I recommend this book because its a thrilling nail biting book.

I turned on the faucet on the hottest setting and waited. I grab a towel, and go into the kitchen to get some dessert. I already had dinner, so I was good to go. I had half a blueberry muffin from Costco. I go back in the bathroom and tested the water. Pretty hot. I climb in the shower and play “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims. I was getting to the chorus of the song with my eyes closed singing a high note when I was singing as loud as I could when I opened my eyes and saw a Black Widow. I screamed. I jumped out of the shower and I put clothes on and I sprinted out of the bathroom with Black Widow eggs on my T- shirt.

I relate to this quote by Dumbledore in many ways. One way that I relate to this quote is that I can also find hope in the darkest times, or days. It means a lot to me because I can’t also find hope in the darkest of times, but I can get through it.

Somebody I really admire is Danny DeVito. One reason why I admire him is because he’s been in Jumanji, The Haunted Mansion and more. Another reason I admire him is because he’s a great actor. My last reason why I admire him is because Danny is about the height of me, 4’10.

This month I read a book called The Black Phone by Joe Hill. I have not finished this book yet; I am currently on page 105. Jack Finney is a thirteen year old boy who is alone in his house and is in really big trouble. For about two years someone has been stalking all the boys of Galesburg. And stealing the children who are never to be seen again. I liked this book so far because it shows how people can be psychopathic and not friendly. My favorite character is Jack Finney because he is brave. One quote to show how he is brave is “ Finney… you killed the man!” This shows how Finney is brave because it talks about being brave enough to stand up for your friends. My favorite quote from the book is “ he is right behind me.” I like this quote because I get scared too.

My word of intention for 2024 is sports. There are a few reasons I am going to focus on this word this year. I am going to do sports because they make me happy, and makes me feel like I can do anything I put my mind to. Such as being successful and achieving goals. Sports can also get you some really good jobs or something else such as basketball, gymnastics, soccer etc.

Mrs. Tanikawa is out sick and they have asked me to step in as principal for the day. On monday, school would start at nine-thirty. All three classes/ periods would end at 11:00, and nutrition break would start at 11:00 too. Two periods would start at 11:15, and end at 12:35. Lunch would start at 12:35 and end at 1:30. At 1:30 there would be two periods that end at 2:30. At the end of school, I would set up an ice cream truck right outside the school.

This month I read a book called Ground Zero by Alan Gratz. This is a book about a nine year old named Brandon who survived 9/11. Brandon ( or Taz ) is visiting his dad at work on the 107th floor of the World Trade Center. And out of the blue, an air plain that was hijacked, smashes into the tower, creating a fiery nightmare of terror and confusion. And Brandon is in the middle of all of this. My favorite character is Reshmina because she is a lot like me with my brothers. “ Reshmina shoved her brother with both hands. “ Pasoon, you snake! Look what you made me do! Now I have to start all over.” My favorite quote from the book is “ Dad? Dad! Are you alright?” Brandon cried.” This quote is meaningful to me because I care a lot about my dad too.

I was enjoying my time getting my morning- tan in. I was sitting along a power line when suddenly I saw something in the distance. It looked like a wave of goodness. Like little leaves but tsunami-looking. The thing looked huge. It slowly came to me as I watched it gobble up my entire home and city like a lion eating its prey. The wind was high. The tsunami of leaves were on my house! My poor poor house is getting destroyed! My babies are getting chewed up by leaves! And then, it suddenly came on me. One leaf flew on my forehead and I squawked. “ OH NO!’’ What am I going to do? The tsunami of leaves flew past me, and I grabbed my children and took them inside their nest and took a shower in the rain.

I am thankful for many things this year, but here are the three top things. One thing that I am thankful for is my friend Zoey. She is a kind hearted and a welcoming person. I love that she is always there for me when I need her. My second thing that I’m thankful for is Ms. Cherbone. She’s fun to hang out with during passing period and lunch. She will give you advice on tests, and will keep a secret and never tell anyone. My third thing that I’m thankful for is pencils/mechanical pencils. They let your words and drawings come to life in pictures and drawings. Being thankful for pencils could sound dull, but they really are something to help you with boredom, or just fill up your free time.
